Adding Channels - Main View There are a number of ways to add a channel to the subscription list:
Import .opml file: .opml files are essentially text xml files. Most desktop rss readers can generate .opml files. You have to drop your .opml file onto the device before you choose this option.
Import from Bloglines: Bloglines is a free online rss reader. Sign up for an account and you can store all your feeds there and then import them into SmartRss.
Type an Url: The old way to add a channel. Typing an Url on a Pocket PC is not something we recommend, this should be your last choice of adding a channel. |
Adding Channels - Online .opml browser After choosing "Import from Bloglines", provide the correct user name and password, then tap the login menu, or, after choosing "BeetzStream's picks", you are at this screen.
It lists all the available feeds, group by categories.
Tap to select the channel(s) you wanted to import, then click the "Import" menu to start the process.
Make a selected item loosing focus first, then re-tap it again to de-select it.
Selection can also be done from the menu. |
Adding Channels - Import .opml file and Type an Url Choosing "Import .opml file", select the file name from the dialog, or choosing "Type an Url", you are at this screen.
Tap the go button to start the importing process, or tap the cancel button to close the screen.
If the importing process completed without errors or did not stopped by the user, this screen will close by itself, other wise, it will remain open, in case you made a mistake in your typing, or some other errors can be corrected and you can restart the process. |
